Equiva announces a SaaS tablet bundle for improved patient experience and digital health engagement

New York, NY, September 21, 2021 – Equiva, the leading provider of patient engagement and health relationship management (HRM) solutions, today announced a tablet bundle solution for interactive patient care and experience, to be distributed by Samsung SDS America (SDSA). The initiative is in direct response to increasing demands for healthcare organizations to improve the availability and delivery of educational content, services, and communication tools to patients and loved ones.

As part of the agreement, Samsung SDS America (SDSA) will distribute Samsung tablets powered by Equiva’s secure cloud-based SaaS environment. Tablets are pre-loaded with clinically aligned patient education materials, communication tools, language and interpretation services, food ordering capabilities, entertainment, and healthcare facility information.

“Healthcare organizations know they can enhance overall well-being by ensuring that patients stay connected to information and experiences, as well as the individuals most important to them,” said Nir Altman, Equiva CEO. “Based on requests from hundreds of customers over the past decade, we’ve expanded our offerings to help organizations improve outcomes by advancing digital health collaboration and decision-making across the care continuum, among consumers, patients, their loved ones, and caregivers.”

Altman said his team is pleased to collaborate with Samsung SDS to leverage this tablet bundle technology in new ways to improve both clinical and financial outcomes. 

He cited research by an Equiva customer, a 619-bed hospital that reduced hip replacement readmissions by 35% after using bedside tablets to deliver patient education.  He also shared data from a recent Accenture report showing that “organizations that improve the patient experience could potentially increase their revenues by 5% to 10% pre-COVID levels within 12 months.”
